Areg Asatryan, co-founder of “ReArk” Architectural Environment Research Center, gave a presentation at the House of Armenian Architectural League on December 8, 2011. The presentation entailed a conversation on the importance of zoning regulation and how it shapes New York’s sky line. The preservation of New York’s historical neighborhoods and landscapes as a fundamental part of its zoning regulations was emphasized.
Areg made a brief presentation of the project in which he was involved 25 years ago in Yerevan. A master plan a zone surrounding Alaverdyan and Hokteberyan streets that capsulated well preserved 19th to 20th century buildings.
At the end of presentation a short discussion took place between him and the audience of young of armenian architects.
